So Tp-Link has 2 apps: Tapo and Kasa
Kasa widgets appear as "officially optimized", while Tapo not (they are behind the 3-dots "other" menu)
While on the phone itself Kasa widgets have 9 types, in Carplay only 3 are available: scene control, device status and device control.
All good. Except the Kasa widgets in carplay are totally unreadable. The text or transparency is off. Only the icon is well visible.
Tapo's (un-optimized) widget appears OK in Carplay though.

Even in the carplay setup/widgets menu the Kasa ones appear fully dark, barely visible text.

Can anyone with Kasa test how their widgets appear in Carplay?

The Kasa stuff is HomeKit compatible, so you should be able to access/control them via the HomeKit widget. I don't use it in CarPlay, but I've seen articles that feature the HomeKit widget in CarPlay.

yeah but for homekit you need a hub (appletv/homepod) to see it outside of your network, and implicitly use it while away in the car..in carplay
