tracking my friends with GPS?

is there any app that let me track my friends who has iPhone 3g?
i heard that some phone from samsung or lg can do that having some kind of sync? thing on each othere's phone
is similar thing possible with iphone 3g?
 
I believe loopt is probably as close to what your looking for as your going to get. Try it out and let me know.

I tried it, but don't know anybody with an iphone
