I have a Trackpad, that I have connected to two devices (Mac Mini and MBP).
The default is the Mac Mini, but, when I want to connect to the MBP or vice versa, I have to first connect via a cable, before it will work wirelessly.

Is that accurate?

Apple's keyboard, mouse and trackpad will only pair wirelessly to one computer/device at a time.

...thus, if I use multiple MBPs and such, I should have a keyboard and mouse, per unit. Got it. Thanks
Plenty of other devices will happily pair with multiple computers at the same time. Logitech, Nuphy, Keychron to name but a few.
