Trackpad - cursor sticks

I'm finding that sometimes when entering text after tapping the cursor on a box, the cursor sticks in place and text entry is not possible until tapping again. Is this something I'm doing wrong? I've never had this happen with the imac.

Check your trackpad settings, maybe you have enabled "double tapping" and you tap too fast and it gets registered as "double tap"?
