Trackpad driver for MacBook Core (2007) running Windows 8

I have a Macbook 2,1 that has been running Windows 7 for years now. Earlier this week the hard drive failed, and so I replaced it and installed Windows 8 Pro 64-bit. In general it's running very well, but there are a couple driver issues. The most annoying one is that the trackpad no longer has two-finger scrolling functionality. I've been looking for a driver to resolve the issue, and have had no luck- however, I know it's possible since we had the scrolling working on Windows 7. Of course, I have no memory of how I got that working back when it was installed.

There are about a million threads on the subject of Macbook trackpads using Windows, however, there are a couple things that make my situation different:

There's no Boot Camp involved... no OSX installed on this machine at all. I just formatted the hard drive then installed Windows to it.
It's a pretty old MacBook.
It's 64-bit, which means Apple's support, already pretty minimal for Windows stuff, is basically totally inapplicable.

The age thing, for example, prevents me from using trackpad++, which many people seem to have had good results with. I do have BootCamp 4.0 and have tried installing the touchpad driver from that, but have had no luck.

OK, I managed to get it working... in the unlikely event someone else is having this problem, here's what worked for me:

using an older version of BootCamp (not sure which, appears to have been released with 10.5.4) locate the x64 drivers within the Apple folder. Install the Apple Trackpad Installer, not the Multi-touch Trackpad Installer.

I had actually already downloaded this BootCamp version before the OP above, but had failed to notice there were two options for trackpad installers. According to System Profiler, I have a multitouch trackpad, but for whatever reason this is the one that works.

I have two finger scrolling, and right click via ctrl click or through two fingers on the touchpad plus click. No tap to click, or Win8 gestures like swipe in, but that's pretty acceptable.

Run Bootcamp.msi in the 64-bit Apple folder of the drivers package. It will install the utility to configure the trackpad. That way you don't have to hold Control to right click.

Note that you need to have Bootcamp.exe run at startup for the trackpad to keep its settings loaded (so don't stop that from running). But you can disable the other 1 or 2 services it installs (one of them is "Apple Time" or something).

Squashed display (wrong resolution) with Windows 8

I've also got a 2,1 Macbook Pro (15" 2007 model) and have been trying to keep this book alive on Windows 8.1. However, although I've managed to get all the critical Apple drivers working, I CANNOT change my display resolution to anything other than 1152x864 OR 1024x768.

Both of these choices are 4:3 and stretch out the display... has anyone found a way to load the proper Mac Display Driver for the built-in screen?
