When I close to lid to put it to sleep and then open it, the mouse is frozen in place. I can't actually click the mouse either, the button or switch does not depress. Any thoughts?

I tried to follow the guide on Apple.ca but I am not sure if it worked correctly... After updating OS X the problem doesn't not persist as frequently as before... I will try to see if FileVault is on like @Gesturthor.
