Hey guys, I just got my MBP yesterday and am experiencing a lot of friction on the trackpad. Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, what are some ways to remedy this issue. Thanks in advance! :)

Try being lighter on it, but within a few days it will be fine and you will start thinking other trackpads feel weird :p

Try adjusting the pointer speed in system preferences and see if that helps out. It won't solve the friction issue, but it might make the issue a bit better.

Your fingers on glass will undoubtedly have friction.

I use a trackpad cover for this purpose. The one I use is in the set with the Moshi PalmGuard.

Does the trackpad cover significantly reduce the friction on your fingertips? I'm considering buying one.

It should be silky smooth. I have an Early 2009 17", and I find it the best trackpad I've ever used.

If you have any, try a bit of Klear-screen on it (make sure to only put it on the cloth, not directly on he trackpad).
