Trackpad not responding when I click after clean install.

I just erased and installed os x yosemite from a usb but now everytime I use the trackpad, the cursor moves but when i tap or click it won't respond (ie. Exit out of window) what can I do.
 
It might be swelling on the top, the part of the battery that comes in contact with the track pad. Unless you can take out the battery to check, I wouldn't rule it out.

The trackpad will stop working (clicking) if the battery is swelling from the top. Did you take it out to check? Even a small bulge is enough.

To make sure, puill it out and use the computer without it. If the trackpad behaves correctly, you've found your problem.
