My trackpad was working perfectly then one day part of it stopped working. The top part and some of the bottom works great, but theres like a strip of it that is unresponsive. How can I fix that? Do I have to take it to the apple store? If so how long will it take to get it back because i need it before I go back to school.

Its a 13in macbook pro I got it on christmas so its still pretty new.

I'd setup a genius bar appointment then, ask them for an in-store repair. Usually they'll have it done within a week.

My trackpad was perfect until tonight, now it's like it's always clicked. So I highlight everything I go to, or drag icons out of the dock. It's only sometimes though. I did do a software update with it today... is that the problem? Or can I change a setting to make it stop clicking when I don't want it to?

I turned off the tap to click and I have solved the "selecting everything" problem... but now my two-finger tap for secondary click doesn't work (even though it's definitely turned on). What's going on???

Thanks for the help everyone. I took it to the apple store and they replaced it for free while I waited. Everything works perfectly now.
