Trackpad ticking sound....

Hi guys,

After getting the Mac out of sleep modus the trackpad is making weird clicking noises. ( or restarting it sometimes).

I already tried a NVRAM reset and a complete fresh 10.13.3 installation. But it still occurs on random times.

Sounds like the Taptic Engine that drives the trackpad is out of whack, somehow. I've never experienced this personally, but a friend of had the issue last year on his 2016 MBP, the thing randomly made noise ranging from a twang to a thwunk. Eventually got it repaired.
