Hello,

I am looking to trade my Late 2010 13" Macbook for a 11"

Somebody as approached me with an 11", however it does not have applecare, is a few months older, and only has 64gb ssd.

He has offered an additional $170 for these differences.

Is this a good deal? Should I ask for more?? (Edit: Both are late 2010 model)

Thanks!

Depends on the specs of both MBAs.

BTW: If it turns out you're gonna go for it, you can get a 128GB SSD for MBAs on eBay for under 100 bucks.

They are both Late 2010 models.

Only difference is the processor, smaller hdd, and no apple care.

I guess the 11" is 1.4GHz and the 13" is 1.6GHz?

EDIT: After scanning eBay's completed listings a bit, I've come to this conclusion:
If you don't take the 13"'s Apple Care into consideration, it's an OK deal. You'd have to estimate what you want to have for "losing" your Apple Care.

Also depends on whether what you do with your MBA allows for the slower CPU.

The edit message in my previous post still stands.

Thanks for all your advice.

I am planning on buying a 15" Macbook Pro next week (new one hopefully!) So I thought a 11" MBA would be more useful as a second machine.

However, I don't think this is a good deal for me, so I think I am going to pass.. I believe AppleCare is worth it on a Laptop as they I bring my lug mine around all day, most days.
