I preordered my phone and forgot to click the trade in button. I am doing an in-store pickup. Is it possible to still trade my iphone 15 pro max in the store when I get there?

In previous years, you have 14 days from purchase date. I don’t know if the policy changed this year.

You'll have 14 days to trade-in at a store, as techiegirl says… stores might limit what they allow at pickup - depending on how busy they are.

Apple chat folk said it doesn’t matter. You can trade in during pickup on the day.

i'm picking our phones up (not by choice.... i couldn't get release day delivery for mine so ISPU it is!)... then going back the following weekend to trade in our current phones!

Yeah.......this is the first year I haven't been able to get release day delivery. The closest store to me is 2 hours away. Oh well....the wife gets a visit to the zoo by the Apple store on Friday. Everybody is happy....lol

I dont think trade in matters if you didn’t trigger it at order… the trade in price is the same if you are just trading in for Apple Card or trading in for credit against what is owed when picking up new phone. So, just look at trade in amount independent of order, get a card first and or apply that to your purchase in store.

One time, while upgrading a Macbook, the local Apple store simply could not process my trade-in. They simply couldn't and wouldn't accept my Macbook even though I selected trade-in at time of purchase -- which Apple could see in their order system. So the Apple store employees called into Apple trade-in HQ and had them start a brand new mail trade-in, i.e. the process of shipping to me the trade-in box for the usual mail trade-in. That worked fine and my rebate was credited within two weeks.

I tell you this for the following reason. If your local Apple store, for any reason, is unwilling or unable to process your in-person iPhone trade in, see if they will do this for you. See if the Apple retail employee helping you will initiate a mail trade-in of your iPhone by processing the request directly with Apple. You'll get the trade-in box quickly and will likely have your rebate within two weeks, and probably within ten days from the time you mail it in. Apple's agents process shipped trade-ins very quickly.
