From what I hear apples doing it this year? I know the place I shipped my phone to was the same place that handles the refurb replacements.
Yep they are doing it this year. To check status, you call the Apple Service number directly.
Phobio has taken BrightStar’s place and handling the gift card trade ins. I had good service with them last year, and they were quick. Had I Known that, I probably would’ve done that option instead.

From what I've read yes. It's probably what I should of done as now they are telling me 2 to 3 weeks.

They received my box/phone last Thursday on the 26th. Said they would give me an update within 3 business days. It's been 4 now and no word. No one can give me any info except they received it.

I traded in my Apple Watch S4. Apple received my trade-in box a week ago. I'm still waiting for them to complete in the inspection process; Apple stated it could take up to 3 weeks for the process to be complete.

From what I was told, it was the ”whole” process. From the time the trade is initiated to the time they receive your device and inspect, etc is 2-3 weeks, and not just the inspection process itself.
Exactly! Right now I'm leaving the $400 balance on my card which is killing me. I'd hate to have to pay it myself before interest kicks in just so they can put a credit on there afterwards.

They are using a third partner vendor. customer service even told me that over the phone
Yeah I’ve been told so many different things by so many advisors. I guess cause Apple is taking over this year, they aren’t fully aware. Phobio still does trades, just the gift cards. Which I am shooting myself in the foot cause had I known that, I would’ve went that route instead. I had a great experience last year with my watch trade with them and they are really quick. Got my credit in two days I think. I would’ve used that gift card on Powerbeats pro or the Series 5 just cause. This credit stuff is taking WAY too long for our liking.
Yes next time I won't choose mail-in and just wait and trade it in at the store and have them refund it like some others have done
