I have boxes coming for both. Today got this and from the images it looks like this is what they want me to return my iPhone 15 ProMax back. They got to be kidding. It is a flimsy cardboard sleeve! Is it for the phone of the watch, I would not even send my watch back in this flimsy pos.

w\What does you phone or watch return box look like?

Yea I understand their environmentalist approach, but these boxes are a little flimsy. And good luck to anyone who had one of these boxes delivered on a windy day.

Definitely had a WTF moment when I first got the packages for my iPhone and watch, but once I put it all together they seem fine and nothing to worry about.

So this is what you sent your iPhone back in? I do not know if this is for the watch or my phone. You iPhone return box looked like the image?

Yes, its the same small box. If your are trading in both your iPhone and watch, they should send you 2 box and label. There is a quote # on the return label, make it matches your return quote # for your specific return.

Thanks. Will be taking images of both

Yep same box except the "padding" was glued to the box. The order numbers are printed on the return label so I could match my iPhone and watch to the box.

I never send my iPhones in mail, I do in store trade in. I did send my AW in a box, which was minimalist.

I traded my 12PM in last year for the 15P and my old phone was stolen in transit...and that was a slightly better 'box' than this
Thieves know that this time of the year is when people buy and trade-in iPhones so they're out there following delivery drivers. Always buy from/trade-in at a physical store when a new product launches.

I have traded in every year. Each year the box get less and less protective. For another $1 you could protect the device. It is not like there is no profit to be had in these trade ins.

Yep. One of mine already came crushed in a corner. 😂

Make sure you take photos and video of what you’re sending out ( people ) with screen showing serial number etc inc .

Definitely going to the store and handing it over in person. I'm surprised they're just automatically sending these boxes out without asking if we want them.

My trade in kits for my watch and phone arrived wet. Rather than asking for replacement boxes, I stopped by my local Apple Store and competed the trade in there.

I would have had major reservations about shipping them back in these flimsy boxes even if they hadn’t arrived damaged.

If possible, do the trade-in at the store. Sending in is much less likely to turn out in a positive manner.
Just got back from the Apple store, they gave me max credit applied to my Apple Card. I also picked up the clear MagSafe case for my 16pm. For now on I will always return my devices to the store. Thanks everyone for reminding me of this option!

If you order online and select the trade-in online when you order, can you still do the in-store trade-in and have the credit applied to the new purchase?

When I bought my M2 MBA two years ago, I never received my trade-in kit. When I went to turn in my trade-in at the Apple Store, all they could do was offer me a gift card. It was a huge hassle. Have they changed it since then?

Was the return box sent automatically since you selected the option trade in when placing your iPhone order ?
I ask since, many have said once a mail in trade in is initiated then the Apple Store cannot process the trade . Of course there will be exceptions to this rule.

Yes, I'm almost positive you can do this in-store. I would only ever do trade-ins in store. It's a seamless process and you get your credit right then and there. It's not worth doing mail in unless you don't have an Apple Store near you.
