You all really sad! If you want to play a trading card game just play Yu-Gi-Oh its by far the best non-electronic game i've ever played:D in case your wondering I use Six Samuraisthe coolest and best looking cards in the game especially in shiny

That is all!

I disagree. I've played several CCGs (not TCG's per se) - Star Wars CCG, Lord of the Rings, Magic the Gathering, and YuGiOh.

YuGiOh was lame, nearly no strategy other than "get a lucky starting hand."

Magic tG is fun since multiplayer makes things exciting. I'm not really a fan though of 1v1.

Lord of the Rings was a lot of fun so long as you didn't play too competitively. Lots of cards were consistently banned due to power issues.

Star Wars CCG was by far the best in terms of strategy and gameplay.

I just ran across your post here. I am local in Dallas. I also played back in the day, and am just now getting back into the game and trying to rebuild my collection. I would be interested in purchasing your cards.

I have a bunch of Magic: The Gathering cards that I bought in high school. Some buddies and I enjoyed playing the game for the strategy involved and that's why we bought cards. It really had nothing to do with collecting. I need to try and sell them since they are still in really good shape despite having been in storage for almost 20 years now.

ForrestM, I'm going to audit my collection so I know exactly what I have and can let those here who have expressed interest know exactly what they would be getting. You need to go into your user profile here on MR and enable private messages. Then I can send you a private message and we can trade contact information.

Don't worry CorvusCamenarum, I haven't forgot about you either. I just haven't had time to go through everything yet.

You must not know much about Yu-Gi-Oh. It requires lots of strategy, especially when constructing a deck.

I have a few of those cards they hand out for hookers on the Vegas strip. I like to call them whore trading cards.

If you're not going to call the number on the card, you might as well see if you can collect them all.

What sound do they make on your bicycle spokes?

All I know is having played quite a few significantly more complicated C/TCG's previously I was able to take decks which others had built and figure out how they were to be played and win with them pretty quickly :\

When did you last play? It may have been like that in the old days, but the game is significantly different today.

I started playing Magic soon after it first came out - right when Beta was finishing and Unlimited came out. (I have a number of Beta cards, even a near-mint Beta Black Lotus. :) I remember my roommate thinking it was crazy he found somebody willing to purchase his Mox Pearl for $15.) Anyway, playing it is like building a computer program and sending it to fight another person's program, with just the right ammount of randomization thrown in. (Anybody else ever play Core Wars?) I enjoyed building new decks just as much as playing.

I don't play in person anymore, so I'm left with Magic Online (the Xbox/PS game sucks because it doesn't allow for much deckbuilding) - and the problem there is having to constantly purchase new cards to stay competitive. So I just hang out in the New Player room, and use the Planeswalker set (gold-bordered, non-tradeable, prix fixe sets with a mix of normal and powerful, common and ultra rare cards) to build interesting decks.

I think an iPad based Magic Online client would be killer.

Oh, and I don't see any redeeming quality to an Apple based set of trading cards.
