Hi all -

This is my first thread here on Mac Rumors, but not my first post, so I'll thank you in advance for being patient with a posting newbie.

So I got this Intel Macbook Air last summer, just before the M1 Macs were released. If I could have waited to get a new Mac until the M1 machines came out, I would have, believe me, but the financial flexibility I had at the time wasn't going to be there for long, so I had to make the move when I did, or never. Now I'm going to be in a situation where I have the unique opportunity to make up for that, and since the Macbook has excellent trade-in value, I've decided to make use of that credit and put it (and a portion of my stimulus check) towards the purchase of an M1 Mac Mini. I had a 2014 Mac Mini prior to getting the Air, so I already have a monitor, a keyboard and a mouse, but I want to upgrade the monitor first, and upgrade the keyboard & mouse later on.

My question, then, is this: I'm not looking to spend a whole lot of money on the new monitor, but I do want it to look and perform great. I know there's no way I'll be able to get anything that approaches the quality of the MB Air's Retina display, obviously, so with that in mind, I'd like to know if anyone out there can offer some advice as to what the best low-cost monitor to use with the M1 Mac Mini might be. I'd also like to know how smoothly (or roughly, as the case may be) the Apple trade-in process has gone for you, and what I might be able to expect from it.

Thanks in advance for any and all kind responses!

I haven't traded anything for a long time but back then their service was unbeatable. I think their service have been slipping so not sure what you can expect.

Here are a couple long threads on monitors for the M1 Mini, there are a number of others in the Mini forum.
