Carrier Trading in Financed iPhone

Does anyone know if the Apple Store will accept a trade in for an iPhone financed through a carrier? Learned the hard way that Decluttr DOES NOT...I've googled this and it looks like the Apple Store might but curious how other's experiences on here have gone. Thanks

Yes they will take it as long as it is not financed through AT&T and you are trying to upgrade the line that it was financed on.

well in my case the phone is financed through AT&T, but not trying to do anything with the line itself.

If you're on the upgrade program you can trade in if 50% of the phone is paid off. All else you will need to pay off the remainder at the time of ordering. Also you need to finance through AT&T to get the maximum trade in of your current phone.
