In 30 years 128GB is what comes with your wearable device and ram and storage memory have become one organic unit and office comes with a virtual bill gates instead of paperclip to help.

Only 30 years ago the maximum RAM you could get was 128KB. I'm guessing in 30 years time we'll see 128TB RAM.

Just ordered 128GB from OWC for my 5,1 octo MP. FEDEX will deliver tomorrow. Should be fun, right now I can already edit pretty smooth 4K video in Premiere CC but 32GB is running out of memory.

That means in the next 30 years progression will be 1/2^10 slower than the last 30 years.

Wrong calculations, was probably dead that day. You get my point haha.

Well, 15 years ago it was 128MB. That makes it a 10 time increase each 15 years. You jumped MB in your logical calculation. That would make it 128KB 30 years ago, then 128MB 15 years ago and 128GB today. So in 15 years we "should" see 128TB RAM in computers and 128PT in 30 years ;) And now people will ridicule why we would EVER need that much RAM... :p

Thanks for clarifying that. I was probably dead tired that day (like almost everyday...).

Exactly! I just wish I needed a Mac Pro so that I could get it maxed-up. Don't need it at all now (and not in the near future) so no point in buying it. Can't wait for the 128TB RAM in the next 15 years. Technology's advancing rapidly!

Pretty sure in 30 years you'll see 128GB RAM in your eyeglasses. Can't wait for that day to come.

That' great! I wish I was in your position so that I get to experience the Mac Pro and the beautiful 128GB RAM. Right now I don't need it, and not anytime in the near future... or basically never. Love my 8GB RAM on my MBP

32GB is very little. Good luck with the shipping, pretty sure you got it by now!

Assuming you're talking strictly about Macs rather than home computers in general (e.g. the Amiga less than a year later came with 256-512KB ram and was readily expandable to 8.5MB), you "could" expand the original Mac to 512 kB by means of soldering sixteen IC sockets to accept 256 kb RAM chips in place of the factory-installed chips (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Macintosh).

Although I was just estimating the time, I was very accurate. Talking about all home computers... I got my point ahead and that's what matters haha. The development of Macs is incredible! Now running a 2010 13" MBP and still strong. Can't wait to upgrade to the retina later this year (to the 2014 model) and experience SSD, graphics and RAM speed (MHz). Doubt a PC can work well this long. Now everyone in my family has a Mac.
