Transfer ATT unlimited plan from iPad 3 to iPad 3 without meeting

Ok so my friend (who lives in a different city) is giving me his grandfathered unlimited plan. I would like to know how we can transfer the data plan without him giving me his sim card. We both have the iPad 3. Is it as easy as logging into his account and changing the IMEI and ICCID and billing info?

You don't need to change the IMEI and ICCID. All you need to do is login with your friend's ID/password in your iPad and it will ask if you want to transfer service. After that's done you can change the billing information.

Does it matter if I change the iPad info first or the personal info?

You need to transfer the data plan to your iPad first, then change personal/billing information.
