lets say I use something like MusicBox or safari downloader, how do I move them to my mac?

I know bridge allows you to move them to the Music app but I would rather move them to my mac, than inport them to iTunes so they stay part of my music library when I am syncing to iTunes

I use Netatalk. Allows me to connect to my phone like I would a server via AFP. Direct interaction with the device through Finder.

Works in iOS 7, but I don't know about iOS 8. There's also a Flipswitch for it so you can turn it on or off.

    I use Phoneview

i connect my phone to my mac and use PhoneView to connect to the phone and there I can copy whatever I want from/to the phone to/from anywhere on my mac. Very simple to use. I do this with 2 iPhones an iPad mini and a iPad 2.

maybe iFunbox does not work on iPhone 6 running 8.1 it detects it as a Jailed device so no root access, I tried installing afc2add and that does not fix the issue

yea, some access is via the app screen. For example... to copy files from your iPhone to your Mac (or <insert lame PC here>, you click on User apps > then moviebox, then you will see the the filesystem for movie box) where you can copy the (drag and drop) the movies to your computer

yes..then you double click, and in the case of movie box, go to Library > Artworks - there you will see the movies

its pretty sweet for on the go, I mean to me nothing beats traditional torrents on a computer but for a MP3 downloader the quality is good 128kbps bit rate for the most part and I have yet to be stumped when searching for something

and if you end up getting it files are downloaded to /var/mobile/Library

Its still not working for me for whatever reason. I have Moviebox and ifunbox. I have always used ifunbox in the past so I am familiar with how it works. I can see the files on ifunbox but when I try to copy them to my mac nothing is happening. I have Apple File Conduit 2 on my phone, still not working however.
