Dear all,

Before my rMBP, my old SR Macbook Pro died... the harddrive's stuff is mostly gone...
I just received my iPhone 5. I also have a iPhone 4S where I want to transfer my music+playlist+other stuff in it.

I did a search online and the answers always just tells you to copy the mobilesync data from the old computer over to the new one...
This doesn't work for my case..

I was wondering how I can transfer my stuff, especially my music+playlist to my rMBP so I can have the music on my new computer, plus able to transfer it over to my new iPhone 5 without erasing all my stuff from my iPhone 4S?

Appreciate your help!

Just to be clear, if you copy over the mobilesync folder with the backups, I believe you should be able to restore it to your iPhone 5. When you plug it in, it will ask icloud or itunes. You say itunes. Then in itunes it asks new phone or from backup. If you have put them in the right folder, it will see them as a backup. I just dont know if those backups also contain all your media.

If you did this and it doesnt work, there are a bunch of programs (although more PC than mac) that can transfer from iPhone to computer. I dont know any off top of my head but google should be able to help you.
