Thanks a lot

Assuming the iPod is formatted for Windows, just enable the viewing of hidden files in Explorer (through the Tools menu, I believe) and then you can grab your tracks from there. Dragging them directly back into iTunes should suffice. 🙂

copyin songs

i have a mac formatted ipod .. i wanted to copy music to my pc - windows XP/

when i connect to windows it asks me to restore it to windows..
If i press okay will it erase my songs in the ipod...

Yes, it will erase everything basically. If you want to use it with Windows and Mac, you have to format it for Windows (not NTFS though, Macs can't write to that)

is there a free program that can allow me to upload a file to my ipod on a windows machine?

my ipod is currently formatted to work on my mac only and i cant install itunes on my work machine.

thanks/

Yamipod. Great program, runs straight off the iPod (i.e. you put the executable on the iPod). Google it. And if you find it useful, paypal the author something.

Since the iPod is formatted for Mac, the PC will need an app like MacDrive simply to be able to read it. If you have the option, reformat the iPod on the PC, re-sync it on the Mac (a Mac can work fine with a PC-formatted iPod) and then try getting your music back from the iPod onto the PC using one of the methods above. 🙂

What is a good program to use to get the songs off of my mac formatted iPod onto my Mac?

Senuti's pretty good.
