Transfer previous purchases via "Family"

Hey Guys,

First, I wish you all a belated Easter.

I have some questions concerning the Apple ID and i was hoping that you guys could help me on that.

I have multiple Apple IDs but only one of them is used for purchases. I want to delete all my Apple IDs, including the one used for purchases (let’s call it, AIOld) and create another Apple ID (AINew) and use this Apple ID for everything.

But before deleting anything, i’m gonna create the AINew and add it to Family.
By doing so, i was hoping, in a way, to transfer my purchases to AINew so to speak.

1. First of all, will that work?
2. Once i delete AIOld, will my previous purchases be still available to AINew?
3. Will i be able to take updates of previously purchased apps with AINew?

Your best bet is to call Aplle and see if they would change the ID name on your existing account that has all of your purchases now. They are your only hope.

If that's what it would take, i'm just gonna give up! It doesn't bother that much. I just have 3 Apple IDs and only one among these 3 is used for purchases. Thing is, it's not my 'primary' Apple ID. I use the main one for everything else. But I've managed to sort them out and it's not such a mess. Ultimately i would prefer to have only one Apple ID. That's the main purpose of all this.

If you only want one ID, may I suggest you pick the one that has all your purchased apps on it.

That would be the perfect, but the one used for purchases is a gmail address. I want to delete the gmail account. I don't use and don't wanna use gmail any more.
I want to use my iCloud address as main email address.

Explain it to Apple, they can be very understanding and just might be able to move your stuff to another address.

Dear All,

I just want to let you know that i mailed the iTunes Store Customer Support and informed them about my situation.

Got an automatic reply saying "We'll be in touch."

I'll keep you guys posted and hopefully close this thread asap.
