transfer song ratings

Hi is this possible. I have rated a number of my tracks on my ibook itunes library and now that I have my new 24 inch imac 😀 I would like to transfers them as well as the tracks. Is this possible? It's stored in a xml file i think isn't it? Can I simply just do something with that?

PS; if you wana get a new imac make it 24 inch, so worth it!

If you copy over the entire Music folder, it will preserve all of your playlists, rating, last played data, etc., as well as all of the music.

Easy.

you have to make sure you copy all of the file users>user>music>itunes and NOT just the itunes file inside that contains all of the actual music data.
