Transfer Text Messages from OS X to IOS ?

Got my new 6s and set it up as new device (as always), and I have a lot of texts that I need.

I noticed that all my texts are on my macbook that I need - is there an easy way to just transfer the text messages the way I had them before?

Basically a text transfer from OS X to IOS (without restoring from backup)?

nope. Only way to keep iMessages backed up is to use an iTunes backup.

Well that's pretty silly.

If I do an iTunes backup / restore - won't it restore everything on my phone? Or is there a way to single out so only messages just gets transferred?
