I have a new iphone SE and just got it yesterday. I am trying to see how i can transfer my text messages from my iphone 4s which was my previous phone. My contacts only transferred over. Would SIM card from 4s fit into iphone SE? I have been in a group text for couple months and i'm not sure i when buying a new phone would it kick me out i still have my same number.

You will have to get a new sim.

And all text messages should transfer to your new phone provided you've backed your phone up to iCloud

I did the restart of the phone pressing home and power button and when it came back on it said update completed and i went through the steps again and it restored everything. There were some photos that don't seem to be showing that were taken the other day even though they were backed up.

I was in your exact situation. I traded in my old 4s and bought the SE. I have an iCloud account. My backup date was the day before my purchase. Everything on the new SE is exactly as they were on the old 4s. All the text messages were transferred over.

You should go into an Apple store and ask someone to help you.

Things seem to have transferred over and more of my photos are showing now when i woke up. It still says downloading. The only issue i seem to be having which is my first time having the issue is when my apps were trying to transfer itunes store popped up asking for password which was strange to me because the apps came from the app store not itunes so i entered same password i use when downloading from app store but that did not work so the transfer didn't complete for apps i have to go into app store and install them again then itunes store pops up again selecting the app and enter password this time it worked that way it's strange that the password didn't work when the apps were transferring but worked installing manually

It is possible that the iTunes account and the Apple ID may not have the same password - sometimes they can be separate accounts. Just a thought?

I don't remember buying anything from itunes store before though for it to ask for a different password even in the app store for free downloads my password for apple id didn't work. I had to stop the transfer for the apps and install them over again myself and installed them again when itunes appeared again it installed the apps without a problem.
