Hi,

I was wondering that if I get new iPhone this week, will I be able to use the back ups from my old one and will it load up texts etc. on my new iPhone too?

I really don't want to lose my texts. Is there a way to transfer?

Thank you

As far as I remember when I broke my iPhone and the insurance company sent me a new one all I had to do was tell iTunes to transfer data from the backup and not set it up as a new phone and everything was there apart from iPod media. (Not sure if thats because I had manual syncing on for music and stuff)

so text messages will be preserved and will be on the new iPhone?

I went to Apple store and asked two mac specialists there and both said that I will lose my texts. Why is it that I get more info here than there. One of them even reiterate that he did have it in the training and that the answer is no.

I will tell him off next time I go there :))))

You could always try forwarding the ones you really want to yourself, and then shut off the phone and switch. When you turn on the new phone, hopefully you will receive them.

I am not sure if this would work though.
