Transfering data to new 2011 MBP from 2006 MB?

My 2006 Macbook runs on 10.4.11 and is an Intel Dual Core, 2 ghz. Apparantly, someone at Applecare doesn't think it works with Migration Asst? I've been on hold forever!! Does anyone know if I have another option besides burn stuff to a CD or what my best option is?

CCC, SuperDuper, Thumbdrive, DVD, external hard drive lol. So many choices.

I have no idea what the first two mean. lol But a firewire to 400 to 800 connector to me looks like my easiest option, then just do the target drive option.
