Well i can get the files from my mac to my pc, but as far as getting them to my mac, i cant connect that way. I thought i just went to go and then connect to server. then i though i ahd to type in smb://computername/shared folder/ and it should connect?

You don't have to connect from the mac. Also you don't have to type anything from the Mac just go to the browse network and the PC should show up.

If you are connecting to the Mac and putting files on the Mac that way you should also be able to take files off the Mac. What I'm trying to say is the Mac apparently is showing up as a drive on the PC so you are dropping files on to it. You should also be able to open the Mac drive from there and drag files off of it.

oohhhhh i see what you are saying, i can just drop the files into my pc folder and they will show up on the mac. i think i got it. although, i am having trouble now connecting back to the mac :-(

Something like that. I think you are getting the idea now and will probably figure it out.

Everything I've read says it's way easier to connect from the Mac to the PC but you seem to have had opposite the luck.

Here's the information I would use.

thanks for the help. I cant get my pc to recognize my mac now. it seems like everytime i startup, the macs ip address is different under system preferences/sharing and then windows sharing. but the good news is now i got my mac to recognize the pc, so i can just trade files that way. my firewall was just turned on so it wouldn't let me. I also had to type in the ip address of my computer instead of the computer name.
Thanks again!
