Got my shiny new iPhone Saturday from the Apple Store.
My current phone number is in a family plan with my parents who have a business discount. Since I recently got married, I figured I'd take my number into my own personal plan.
I called on Sunday and was told the transfer department was not open on the weekends.
I called Monday. I was on hold for at least 20 min and a nice young lady transfered me to the account transfer department. 10 min wait. Ooops you're in eastern PA market, and I handle western PA, let me transfer you. 10 min wait..
Another nice young lady is on and says she can help. They get my fathers permission to transfer the line to me. She then says she is going to transfer me to the business office to be sure my parents don't lose the business discount.
10 min wait.
This nice young lady then says, "I'm sorry, you're within 3 days of the end of the billing cycle, you'll have to call back Wednesday.".... I take a drive to the AT&T store 2 min from my house and they can't do a thing.
I called back Tuesday and was told the same thing, "Please call back tomorrow."
So I called back this AM. This time they set up my new billing account, the whole 9 yards. "Ooops, you're billing date on the old account was the 13th and we can't move the number until 7 days after that, please call back Friday."
*Sigh* Is this really THAT difficult? 🙄
