How can I transfer a purchased app from my iPhone to my iPad, both running IOS 9? The app is no longer available in the app store, and doe not show up in purchases.

That does not work for apps that are no longer available in the app store, even though I purchased them.

Curious: Does it work as long as you already had it backed up to your computer on iTunes? Or did they change that completely?
I think you should be able to install already archived apps. Backing up doesn’t work anymore since IOS 9 because of App thinning IIRC.
