Transferring backups between Macs

Am hoping to buy a new Macbook when/if they become available next month. I currently back up my iPhone to my computer instead of iCloud. When I get my new Mac, is there a way to transfer my iPhone backup to the new Mac?

Would rather do this without using Time Machine as I wanted to set up everything else as brand new.
 
Why not just backup your iPhone directly to your new Mac once you get it?

I don't see any reason why you should transfer your iPhone's backup from your old Mac to your new Mac, it's time consuming and can be a headache.
