Hi there,

I suppose there is a way to transfer files by cable from my MacBook to my new Android tablet. But hard to find a solution. Most apps help you to send files to an Mac...

I have an old Samsung Galaxy tablet.

To transfer files (either direction) just plug a USB cable in between the tablet and the Mac.

I have an app called "Android File Transfer" that seems to work with the tablet to facilitate the transfer of files, but I believe there are other apps as well. The "AFT" app, as it is, seems on the clunky side... but it still works.

One last thing:
I found that the tablet needs to be powered on (heh, of course), AND you may get a dialog when first connected about the "mode" the tablet is supposed to be in. You want the "mode" that causes the tablet's internal storage to appear as "a drive" to the Mac...

Another option is to use Google Drive….;)
(sorry just realised you said cable)
But it a usable idea anyhow. Which I did use before I figured the USB cable out. I plugged in my internet LAN cable into the Drawing pad (with a converter) and got access to the internet. And I tried Drive (for the first time ever, newer figured out what it was before the other day :) And used Dropbox too.

Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion!
I read you reply some days ago. But I used a LAN cable with a converter (in the USB port in the tablet) and transferred files via Dropbox and also Drive.

But this morning I connected my tablet to my Mac for charging while working on the tablet – and THEN a message on the tablet popped up, asking if I wanted to transfer files via the USB port/cable or not. And the Android app on my Mac popped up at the same time!

So yes, now things seem to work :)
