Transferring files from non-compatible External hard drive

I have a hard drive with that I used with my old PC that is in NTFS. When I plug it into my new mac to transfer the files, it states it is not compatible. Any ideas? Thanks
 
You should still be able to read from it. If not, you can install NTFS-3G and another piece of software to get full compatibility with OS X.
