I have just got a 2009 iMac.

I backed up my MBP to a hard drive using time machine.

I want to get basically all the music I had on iTunes onto my new iMac but not the rest of the things I had.

Is there any way to do that?

Thanks

Start up it.

When it's gone to the importing options page, click restore from old time machine backup.

Then you can select what you want to import specifically whether it be all of the files or just a few of them such as documents only.

Just find your music folder and select that as the only thing you want to restore.

Screen should look something like this:

ok.

Then you get here select only music.

Good luck.

Thank you. I have already set it up though, how do I get this now?

So I've done this, and am on my old user. But none of my music files are here..

What specifically did you do? What steps did you perform? Did you choose to migrate the Music folder from the User account that contained your music in the Time Machine backup?
