I'm buying a new iPod Touch in a few days, and I'm wondering whether it's possible to transfer all my files from my old one to my new one.

It's possible to just plug it in and synch it with my apple account, but will that just synch the apps and media, without also synching my apps' data and settings? I'm mainly concerned about losing my OmniFocus data, and the various preferences files and settings in my other apps.

When you connect a new iPod touch to a computer which has synced with another iPod touch and has created backups for, iTunes will ask you to set it up as new or to restore it from a backup. If you restore from backup that should automatically sync whatever apps and iTunes content you had on your old iPod touch to the new one. See this link for what will be placed on the newer iPod touch from the backup in the "About Syncing and Backups" section.

or if u dont wanna mess with itunes, u can use copytrans... i grab tunes from any ipod with that sucker... and its free :)
