Hi,

I hope someone can help me.

I have a QNAP HS-251 which runs an iTunes Server.

I have all my music on that. I can access that music on my laptop no problem but I'd like to sync some playlists over to the laptop so I can have a hard copy when I go away.

Can someone tell me how to do this, if its possible.

I believe that the same library structure is kept on the QNAP - there should be a way to copy the iTunes library file over to your local machine and then mount it.

I kind of get what your saying I think, but I dont want to copy all my music, just some.

Also my laptop is a Mac.

Thanks for helping.

It's not going to be possible to selectively transfer them across - you could perhaps export them from your current library and create a new library?

Yeah,

I think I'll just have to make playlists etc of the songs I want then physically move them across to my computer.

Couldn't see an option to make playlists when viewing the music from iTunes Server.

Yeh if you are viewing the actual files/folders it's really impossible to find the music. Normally you would do it through iTunes, and drag/drop them into a temporary file on your computer, then create a new iTunes library on your local machine. (When launching iTunes, you can press and hold Option to select alternate libs)
