On and Off

I've used Vuze, uTorrent and Transmission. I tried Vuze for a week and didn't like it, got uTorrent and was using for about a month, got transmission and used it for six months then went back to uTorrent 2 days ago and today im on Transmission. Its the little things like the growl integration and how you can pick the files you want out of the torrent. So transmission wins. Also I didn't know why the speed were so slow until I had used port forwarding so if your suffering from speed issues then I would go look into that. Try Here!

I used uTorrent for a long time under Windows, and was happy to see it was finally available for OS X - but then I found out that it was owned by the creator of Bittorrent, and he's in bed with all the major movie studios (or so it seems, anyway...) I'm a little wary of that.

Transmission is nice, and has a very cool feature of being able to block certain IP addresses, but I really like the GUI for Xtorrent 2 (preview download now available), so I may be switching to that very soon...

I used to hate Transmission because of it's poor performance, but I've been using it more and more lately with good results. Vuze is still the best client in terms of performance though; it just lacks a good UI.

I have always been a big fan transmission, but in the last month or so, i start noticing that beachball effect of large torrents when using it (in the past, never had a problem), it is really frustrating considering i own a high end spec MBP so i was not used to seeing the beachball that often. I am going to give Vuze a try, thanks guys.

I'm happy with uTorrent (in fact I haven't tried anything else). The only downside to it is that quitting takes time and it constantly halts shutdown or restart.

The "hang" when quitting torrent apps is perfectly normal if you have torrents currently up/downloading. It's just "sealing off" the transfer to avoid any errors. If you pause your torrents before quitting, you will not get the hang.

I use Vuze with all the media options turned off (old-school Azureus). Tried uTorrent, and I use Transmission on my laptop, but I rarely download off my laptop.

The interface is ugly, aka the same as it was on Windows, but it gives you the most options to control and keep updated with your torrents. Sometimes Transmission likes to stop and queue torrents even if I tell it not to.
