I'm currently using Transmission as my bittorrent client due to good user reviews throughout this forum. The files I'm downloading have thousands of seeders, so that shouldnt be a problem. However, the downloading rate is ridiculously slow. I'd get 150 KB/s+ on my PC with BitLord, but I'm only getting 15 KG/s here....

Does anybody know the problem? Do I have to fiddle with my internet ports or the Transmission settings to get maximum output from the bittorrent client? If I download normally off websites, I get really good rates. But with bittorrent, its just plain pathetic.

Thanks in advance for your help.

make sure have the appropriate port forward to your computer given you are on a router. and set the port correctly.
