Transmission Torrent App questions

Hello,

I've installed Transmission but I have 2 questions:

1. Does Transmission install anything in the background or in the system that can affect stability of my OS?

2. I'm on a limited amount of data (11 gigs) per month so I would like to disable uploads. Can someone explain how I can do that?

Under Preferences, Bandwidth, you can tick the maximum upload speed and set a number. Zero is probably what you want there.

And stuff in the background? Not to my knowledge.
