You have to disable "increase contrast''
That sucks. But the 4S is starting to age a little too, it's almost 2 years old. 🙁 try a restore and see if that fixes it. Or, turn off "increase contrast."

Not too sure about that, both the new ipod touch and the ipad mini run off of the same SoC. i wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the 4S

I updated my iPhone 4S and i dont have the transperency anymore on the NC or control center.
Or is it only me?
EDIT: Turns out if you have Increase contract on everything goes black instead.
Turn off "increase contrast in accessibility. It will fix it.
They're both clocked faster, no? I know the Mini is, but the touch I'm not sure about. The 4S is clocked the slowest.

Just updated my iPhone 4S to beta 3. Transparency on NC and control centre is still as in previous betas for me. Hmm ...
I look this 'solid' look a lot better than the transparent version. The transparency looks cheap and overwhelming.
Kinda sucks that that is happening on the 4S, I would have hoped the transparency would still be present in at least this phone instead of souly the 5.
Are you kidding? The transparency/frosted glass is the ONLY thing thing iOS 7 has going for it. iOS 7 is just plain boring.
