Transparency, like the ripple effect is a CoreImage feature on Leopard and is only supported by the following Macs:

    NoteBook:

    iBook G4 1.33 12"/1.42GHz 14" Models
    PowerBook 1GHz or better
    Any MacBook or MacBook Pro

    Desktops:

    Any Intel Mac Mini
    1.42GHz eMac
    iMac G4 1.25GHz or better
    PowerMac G5
    mac pro

    Thanks

Thanks for that, but the transparent menu bar is a different story.

Apparently older hardware won't feature the new transparent menu bar. (A flat grey opaque is used instead) That includes my first gen iMac G5.
