Is there a way to change the opacity or transparency of Applications? I can do this with Adium so that I can see a bit of whats in the bacground. Something like Vista.

I don't think you really can do that in Mac OSX 10.4 but maybe there's a app somewhere around that can do that but it will only be running your computer slower...
 
I use InvisRay.

I don't actually use it anymore but it is still installed on my system and works very well. Doesn't slow anything down in the slightest on my machine.
