So I have a 11" MacBook Air that may be from 2011 or 2012 with an LCD display assembly that's fine (but the motherboard/keyboard is busted).

And I may be getting an 11" MacBook Air (being put up for sale on a local buy/sell site) from 2013 with a broken LCD display assembly (but the motherboard/keyboard is fine).

Would it be possible to swap the displays so that the LCD from the former MBA could be used with the latter MBA?

The LCD assembly from a 2012 11 inch Air is different from the LCD assembly of a 2013 11 inch Air. The difference that I can see are in one of the connections. On the 2011 the connection is short and on the 2013-2015 display assemblies, that one connection (short one found on 2011-2012 display assemblies) is much longer. You can see it here from the iFixit web site...

Did some research and came upon this,

Now this COULD be the display you need but, you would need to compare it with the serial number on the bottom of the LCD.

Hope this squares away your issue!
