transporting an external hdd

i'm going to california in a few days and i'd like to know if there is a risk in transporting an external hdd (actually an internal in an enclosure) in a suitcase
for 5 hours. maybe i'm just paranoid

I carry around my 250GB desktop exernal HD everywhere with me, and nothing has ever gone wrong with it🙂
