I just got my first ever Mac, the new 2.53 15" UMBP. Love it.

One odd thing though. When I log in it makes a series of sounds which can only be described as sounding like a kazoo. Very buzzy like a piece of paper or the world's cheapest little speaker. It buzzes a series of sounds then stops. This happens every time I log in, open/close the lid, etc.

Audio is fine on the device. It plays songs and video sound tracks quite well. The startup chime plays fine, too.

It kind of sounds like a cricket stuck under some wax paper.

Is this, uh... normal?

sounds like either a fan hitting something, or this...

You know... that does kind of sound right. I thought that maybe there was a paper shipping protector stuck in there but of course there wasn't. I will try putting in a disc and see if it changes/stops.

Thanks...
