Howdy.

I was wondering whether trash and dust can damage the ports in the side of a MBP(or any laptop), let's say, if I'm using a Speck case around my macbook pro and put it inside my backpack, can the USB, Eternet, and so forth get damage in any way by the dust and small trashes(little bits of paper, things like that).

Sincerely,

Ramzhh

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless you have a large amount of trash and dirt in your bag. 😱

It might not physically damage the ports, but if there's conducting bits in your "trash" it can cause an electrical short which would be bad. Keep your ports clean.

I use compressed air when I can or I use a rocket blower I'm on the go.

It's not really an issue, but it's still good to keep things clean.

"Did you get peanut butter in your ethernet port again?"

Great quote from......anybody???
