Trash Sound not working

....pretty much what the title says. For some reason my trash won't make the noise when emptying, nor does it make the sound when something is dragged into it anymore.

I was wondering where I could configure this option to make sure everythings on..........

Is Play User Interface Sounds checked in the Sound pane of System Preferences?

you can also take the sound that is made when you change volume off if it annoys you or is disrupting. It is a feature found in the same place mad jew directed you.

What's funny is I had this same problem - with the option checked! For some odd reason, it would stop making the sound for me, requiring a restart.
