Something happened to trash! It used to just say "empty" as the empty button. It now reads "empty securly" and takes way too long to empty plus it slows my laptop down. WTF? Im using a 17' macbook pro. Thx in advance for the help guys.

Are you holding down the option key by chance?

Secure deletion does a 7(?) pass operation of writing and erasing junk data over the sectors you wanted to delete so it can take a long time to process large files in that manner.

I don't know if you can change the default settings for the trash... do you use MacPilot or some other system hack app?

No im not holding down anything. I just click the button. Im not really too computer savy so I dont have any extra programs or apps like that. I usually use the laptop for DJ use and downloading music. Thx

Haha! I feel dumb. I figured it out! I just went into the finder where it says empty trash. It also says empty securely. my bad. Thx bro!
