Anyone know of a way I can insure my phone against theft/loss/damage while I travel overseas for 2 weeks.

I have the 64 GB iPhone 4S. My homeowners policy has a $1k deductible so that's not going to help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Check the credit card you bought it with. Most Visa, MasterCard, or American Express cards offer 30-90 days of purchase assurance, which acts like a blanket insurance policy.

Fair warning: if you bought the phone subsidized, they will only payout the figure on the receipt. This shouldn't be a problem so long as you can bring back some iPhone with you for a $200 genius bar swap. Also, most of the time the entire purchase has to be on that card for you to qualify.

Talk to your insurance company.

They could possibly offer you a rider, similar to camera equipment/jewellery/etc, which "back in the day" was usually 5% per annum of the agreed value.
